The Mid-Atlantic Instructors group was formed in early 2009.The group is the efforts of Michael Quinn, Isaiah Kehle, and Marshall Younker. This group of fellow firefighters assembled to help a local department with training at an acquired structure. After that day they decided to put their efforts into developing courses to get back to basics, to pass on what has been passed to them for those that came before them to those that will follow. We are currently offering Auto Extrication courses, Engine & Truck Company courses, and our own “Truck work from the Engine” course. All of our instructors started in small departments with limited manpower and understand what it’s like to arrive on scene with less than the desired number of people. Each of us has moved forward spending countless hours in training courses and continues to train today. Our instructors background is wide ranged with instructors in the following jurisdictions; Washington, DC Fire, Montgomery County Fire Rescue (MD), Fort Detrick Fire Rescue (MD), Loudoun County Fire Rescue (VA), Frederick County Fire Rescue (VA), City of Winchester FireRescue (VA), Morgan County EMS (WV), Berkeley County OES (WV), WV Air National Guard (167th), City of Martinsburg (WV), Morgan County (WV), Jefferson County(WV).Our courses focus on getting the most out of every member of your response team. Each course is designed to use real crew sizes (3 to5) depending on the course; we will work with your department to tailor our course to your departments needs.
Mid-Atlantic Instructor Group is comprised of instructors with the intent of sharing experiences and carrying on the fire service tradition. These instructors have all pledged to provide their best effort to communicate concisely, provide realistic training in a controlled safe environment, continue education and provide the best opportunity to learn for everyone.
